History:
Jean-Paul, or J.P. as he is called by most is a fixture of the village, even though he was once one of the "Door people". He came through a door one day that he had discovered on a beach in England, 1939. War was starting in Germany and Western Europe and he knew that soon, if the Isles entered the War, he would be joining the Army, having come from a family with a long line of service to the Crown. He had hoped to make his way into Intelligence like his grandfather had, but the appearance of the door forestalled all that from happening.
Unfortunately, depending, of course, on how one looked at it, when he went through, it was night, he was totally lost and the door had opened onto the forest ... one of the revolving doors which left him virtually stranded without a way back home unless he found the "right" door to go back.
Resigning himself to the situation, he has made himself a productive memeber of the village by taking over the duties of the aging Post Mistress, manning the small office during the morning and doing deliveries in the afternoon. He has his own tiny place above the Post Office and a room at the Inn since that is usually the last place on his route, if something needs to be delivered so he can stay there in safety until morning, taking the restrictions of going out at night very seriously from the things he has seen in his two years here.
